Backfill PRO
MineSmart has secured a strategic alliance with Paterson and Cooke to developed a web-based application to assist backfill engineers with developing optimal paste recipes for filling each stope in a mine. The primary aim of the product is to assist with reducing overall operating costs for cemented tailings and paste backfill systems by ensuring the amount of binder added is optimised for the transportation characteristics and performance requirements of each individual filling location. In addition, the application allows for storage of backfill related data, including pour notes and reconciliation data. Backfill PRO is designed as a tool to aid with backfill operations management and optimisation, and to complement existing processes.

A specialist engineering consultancy service. We operate out of nine offices, in eight countries and in each of the major mining centres globally. The business was established over 30 years ago, initially focusing on mineral slurry transport systems – pumps and pipes. We now cover all aspects of water solids separation as well as specialist mineral processing systems such as backfill plant design, providing all levels of consulting and engineering design support, and all predominantly in the mining sectors.
